Appearance
This jar had a great look right when I opened it, with a wet, terpy appearance and a light beige color with a slight golden/amber tint. The rosin has a clean look to it upon opening, with no visible contaminants to the naked eye or even under my phone’s macro lens. When I dipped my dab tool in, the consistency was nice and workable, with that ideal rosin consistency that is easy to scoop onto my tool and work with. It did get slightly dry towards the end but nothing serious.
The rosin came packaged in an authentic miron jar with the “m” stamped on the bottom. It had three stickers: a wraparound, a top, and a bottom. The top sticker was heavily embossed, with a bright orange background with orange water like droplets all over which were embossed with a large embossed Yeti footprint in white in the middle with “Yeti Melts” written inside in a bright blue. The wraparound was also embossed all over, with a bright orange color with embossed orange water like droplets all over and displayed the jar name big in the middle “Citro Slush” in white with a bright blue outline. The bottom sticker had that same orange water like droplets as its background with a white snowflake in the center, and other details like the micron range and stating that it’s bred in house and is single source.
Aroma
The aroma is loud and instantly shoots into your nose as soon as you bring the jar up close. It has a sharp, bright sweet tangerine citrus profile rather than a typical orange one, coming across much sweeter and juicier overall. The jar is just packed with those sweet citrus zesty tangy notes, with an ever so slight bitterness that reminds me of what freshly juiced tangerines would smell like with that concentrated sweet citrus smell.
Taste
The taste translates really nicely from the aroma. I get a sweet, juicy tangerine citrus flavor that fully coats the mouth, with a bright tangy sweet citrus note that comes through strong on the inhale. Then on the backend, that sweet tangy citrus profile continues and lingers on the palate pretty long after the exhale, leaving behind a really enjoyable terp presence that sticks around for a while before slowly fading away. It’s almost like with every dab you’re taking a gulp of freshly squeezed tangerine juice.
Burn/Smoothness
The rosin burned really nicely on the nail, leaving behind a light golden residue rather than a dark or murky color that would usually indicate a higher amount of contaminants. There was also no visible charring or black specs left behind on the nail. The jar dabbed fairly smooth overall, even when testing it at higher temps, with only a slight bit of harshness and discomfort once pushed hotter.
Effects
It delivered some really nice effects with a chill, easygoing high that felt great before the gym and gave me a nice little wake up without being overwhelming. It’s not one that’s going to take you out or leave you super sedated, instead it brought more uplifting and functional effects.
Overall
This is the second jar now I have tried from Yeti melts with my first one being Yellow Vines and this one pretty much kept that same quality. The reason I got this jar is because I had been wanting to try this brand for some time now after hearing great things on them, but the high ticket always held me back, and sometimes I was out of the country when they dropped so it never lined up. I also wanted to see if it lived up to the hype and if that price point was really justified. I also chose it because I haven't had a tangy citrus jar in a while and figured why not give this a try.
Yeti Melts is a small batch, couple team out of California that started in 2021 and has since built a strong reputation as one of the more sought after brands in the hash scene. Between the couple, they bring a combined 23 years of cultivation experience and around 9 years of hash making experience. The brand breeds many of their genetics in house, while also dropping occasional collabs. Since they started in 2021 they have had four Ego Clash podium finishes: 2nd place hash in 2021 with Jolly Apple, 3rd place hash in 2022 with Limeapple, 3rd place rosin in 2022 with Turquoise Tiger, and 1st place rosin in 2023 with Optimus Lime. Their Banana God cut, run by Simply Adam, also took 1st place in 2022 at Ego Clash, and they also came 1st place at the Meltdown Pheno Hunt Cup in 2024 with Red Lemons.
I would say this jar checked all the boxes. The looks, nose, taste, high and everything all around was solid with no complaints besides that bit of harshness when testing those higher temps.
If you’re a fan of strong sweet tangy citrus terp profiles, this one is really nice and honestly has some of the better citrus/tangie terps I’ve had. I know a lot of people don’t usually gravitate toward those tangy citrus profiles, but personally I don’t mind them at all when they’re done properly like this one. That being said, I probably wouldn’t grab this jar again solely because of the steep price point. I’d 100% pick it up again if it was priced closer to market average or even slightly above, but for me the terp profile just wasn’t unique enough to fully justify the higher cost. However, if you genuinely love sweet tangy citrus terps, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try because the terps are expressed extremely well, the hash burns clean, and the overall quality is definitely there. Honestly, if I were more into heavy citrus/tangie profiles myself, I’d probably grab it again. Shoutout to Yeti Melts!
