The looks are solid. The rosin has a pale yellow color with a wet, terpy sheen, and you can spot a few small air bubbles in the picture if you look closely. When I went to scoop it, the consistency was that in-between wet and dry texture, but it leaned more on the wet side, which is typical for most of his cold cures before a stir which i think is mainly due to the jars he uses as they just don’t store cold cure well. After stirring, the jar became noticeably wetter, terpier, and overall easier to work with.
The jar design is simple, using the classic style Chris always goes with. The top sticker stands out with a matrix style green code background featuring the The Real Cannabis Chris logo and Ganjah Guru. The bottom sticker shows an image of Earth in space with a massive watermelon in front of it, along with a few other small details, which was pretty cool. It also lists the strain name and micron information. One especially cool detail about the top sticker is that some of the green Matrix code actually has meaning. If you look closely, you’ll notice it’s written in Japanese. With the help of a friend, I translated some of it: parts of the code say “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” and “The Real Cannabis Chris x Ganjah Guru.” I’m sure there are even more hidden messages throughout
Aroma
The smell on this jar opens with a mild sweet, smooth, fruity melon aroma that fits the melon z name perfectly. There are also slight citrus notes that come through on the back end, adding a bright refreshing layer. After whipping the rosin around a bit, the scent became louder. The smell on this jar definitely delivers on the fruity, melon expectations while still offering a bit of complexity. The way the aroma evolves after agitation was nice and shows how well the terps open up once the rosin is worked. Overall, a very enjoyable nose that sets a great tone for the rest of the experience.
Taste
The taste on this one is really enjoyable. It comes through with a smooth, juicy melon flavor that’s semi sweet and gentle on the palate and by that i mean the sweetness isn’t loud or overpowering, instead it’s subtle and natural leaning more towards a real fruit than candy. There’s also a slight hint of citrus that pops in on the exhale, adding a nice bright edge without taking over the profile. The citrus note complements the semi sweet melon terp beautifully. What also stood out was how smooth it was, no harshness or background noise really smooth.
Overall
This jar was good, the profile was very smooth and flavorful which I enjoyed. This was a Reserva Privada, which is what The Real Cannabis Chris uses to label his best jars and usually they have a limited number of jars like for this melon z there were only 29 jars of it. The reason i decided to get this one in a reserva privada was because i wanted some melon terps and I picked this one up at Puffcon from Ganjah Guru so i was able to smell the jars beforehand, and the nose on this one stood out to me so i decided to grab it.
This jar checked all the boxes. The looks, smell, taste, and high were all consistently good. It dabbed smoothly, and the high brought a cozy, relaxing body effect that makes you just want to chill. The top sticker was also a fun touch, featuring the matrix style design with hidden Japanese messages sprinkled throughout.
It was a quality jar from The Real Cannabis Chris and Ganjah Guru however I probably wouldn’t pick it up again solely because the flavor profile isn’t something I see myself craving, but it was still a great jar nonetheless. I personally like more loud mouth coating terp profiles and this one was more subtle but still flavorful so just not something I would grab again but if you enjoy smooth, subtle, fruity melon terps, you’ll definitely appreciate this one.
