Appearance

The rosin looked great. It opened to a silky off white appearance which is not from an early pull but just how the strain is as stated by The Baked Taters as many people were curious. The rosin also had a clean look to it with no contaminants visible to the eye or under my phone’s macro lens. The texture was on point as well with a terpy, easy to scoop consistency that was wet but did not drip off the tool.

The jar art was also really cool and eye-catching. The graphic designer really went crazy on these. The top sticker had a textured finish with a green weed goblin style character in a white apron squeezing an orange in one hand and spraying a gas pump in the other over a blue background with ice cubes falling. The top sticker is perfect for the name Death by Boof. The wrap around label was just as interesting featuring The Baked Taters logo along with two potatoes which I’m assuming represent her and her husband with her pressing and him washing plus a ton of other small details throughout. The jar presentation was amazing and to make it even better the rosin looked great too.

Aroma

The smell is really nice and unique. It has a sweet, fruity, very funky nose with orange citrus notes coming through from the superboof, along with subtle hints of gas woven in nicely. It’s not a super gassy smell but more of a sharp gas that fades in and out, but for the most part you’re met with a loud, fruity funk, sweet orange citrus profile.

Taste

The taste on this jar was great and translated really well from the smell. I got a nice mouth coating fruity funk with a sweet orange like citrus flavor followed by slight gassy notes on the back end. Everything paired together perfectly and created an amazing flavor that I really enjoyed. It’s like biting into a sweet orange with a funky twist and finishing with subtle gas notes. The flavor is great but sadly it was slightly harsh, nothing too crazy but it did make it a bit less enjoyable. If you are not very picky you probably won’t  even notice it.

Overall

This was my first time trying The Baked Taters and I enjoyed it and I can see why this strain won so many awards with its melt. The main reason I decided to try death by boof is because I wanted to try this brand and Death By Boof seems to be the staple so I figured why not start off with their staple.

If you don’t know much about The Baked Taters  brand here’s a bit of information they started growing in 2004 in West Virginia before moving out to Michigan, they had always been growing for flower but it wasn’t till around three years ago or so where they began growing for resin to make hash after going to a hash bash and trying some smokey solventless and then decided that that’s what they wanna make. They started with Smokey Solventless washing their material before going single source. I found it cool that they have gained so much respect in the hash community after only roughly three years of producing it.

This jar checked most of the boxes except the taste did fall slightly short, not flavor wise but it was just a bit harsh on the throat. The looks, smell, and effects were all on point though which made up for the harshness but at the end of the day I do enjoy when a jar dab smooth and this one was just a bit rough. The high was nice though as mentioned and rather potent especially when dabbing it at higher temps, it had a relaxing high that was not too intense but definitely hit. The only minor drawback with this jar really was the slight background noise that made it a touch harsh, but it was nothing worth truly complaining about.

Overall I really enjoyed this jar and even though it had that slight bit of harshness all the other categories were a knock out the park so I cannot knock it down too much. I would for sure grab this jar again, hopefully next time in melt to see the difference and hopefully if I do get the cold cure next time the slight harness is gone but nonetheless this was a good jar of hash, shoutout to TheBaked Taters I can't wait to see what y'all cook up down the road!
