Appearance

The appearance of this full melt was outstanding. Although it came greased up due to travel, it still looked excellent. The melt displayed a clear ivory color with subtle champagne hues in certain areas. To the naked eye, it appeared very clean with a few pepper specs present, and under a macro lens you could begin to spot a few more pepper specs, which are simply just some plant material. This melt easily qualifies as a high five-star full melt and comes very close to six star and many would consider it six star melt.

The jar design was also impressive. It came in a clear jar with a gold-colored metal lid, topped with a lid sticker featuring the famous woodblock print Fuji from Gotenyama on the Tōkaidō at Shinagawa by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. The bottom of the jar included an additional sticker with key details such as the name, cross, and micron size

Aroma

The aroma is outstanding and was right up my alley terp profile wise. It delivers a loud, sweet, and refreshing water citrus profile with no sour or gassy notes at all. It’s reminiscent of a starburst 36 in some ways, yet distinctly different leaning more toward a mellow, sweet citrus water notes. That comparison makes sense, given that Starburst 36 includes KC36 in its lineage.

Taste

The flavor on this strain was really enjoyable and translated well from the nose. When consumed at lower temperatures around 480°F–515°F, it delivers a mouth coating, light, refreshing, airy sweet citrus profile, followed by very subtle sour notes on the finish that linger pleasantly on the palate.

When dabbed at higher temperatures around 550°F–600°F, it maintained the same flavor profile as it did at lower temps and handled the heat well. It burned clean with no bubbling or crackling. While the sour diesel influence isn’t dominant in the flavor at either low or high temperatures, it clearly comes through in the effects.

Overall

This was my first time having a Keeping It Coastal and I must say I was more than impressed with this one. The reason I got this one is because I haven’t had a jar from this brand and have heard great things about them and also the cross had me intrigued. I will say in the past the price point has been a reason for me not to get it as they are usually very pricey but I will say you will not be disappointed if you grab this one.

I don’t know much about Keeping It Coastal but I know they are a flower and hash brand out of California and they have been growing flower for over a decade but not sure when the hash journey started.

This jar checked all the boxes for me with flying colors. The looks, smell, taste, and high were all on point, nothing to complain about with this jar at all. It also dabbed like water very smooth, clean and also packs a punch and had me sweating after trying it at hot temps in which it handled perfectly, the high hit amazing with a nice head and body high potency was nice on this.

I really enjoyed this jar and it was easily my favorite melt of the year and is up there on my all time list and I would absolutely grab this jar again in a heartbeat the only thing that hinders me is the price point definitely not a casual pick up more of a treat at least for me that is. Keeping It Coastal did their thing with this one. The jar  was phenomenal I can't wait to try it in cold cure form too in the future.
