The looks on this jar were alright. It came as a thumbprint with Melon Soda #24 as the cold cure and Moon Glow #1 as the sauce. The cold cure had a clean light pale beige color, with a slight darker tint where the sauce spilled over during transport. The sauce itself was a darker brownish orange color that doesn’t really show in the photo, and as mentioned some of it leaked onto the cold cure, creating a little terp pool on one side of the jar, likely from transport.
The jar design was wild. I’m pretty sure most of their close friends drops look similar, but this one had a holographic wraparound with a pink m&m guy, a guy meditating, and a big sun with “710 Labs” written underneath. There was also a random quote: “Nothing is real go tell them you see God in their eyes.”
The top sticker was simple “710 Labs” with an image of a woman meditating under a tree. Above her it says “Trade Offers” with “I receive: nothing” on the left of her and “you receive: nothing” on the right.
Aroma
The nose on this jar wasn’t bad. It had a light, sweet, earthy, fruity, floral, tart kind of aroma that was rather complex and pretty interesting. Personally, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the smell, but if you enjoy that terp profile, you’ll probably rate and enjoy the nose higher than I did.
Taste
The taste on this one was interesting. With thumbprints, I usually like to test them three ways: the cold cure first, then the jam, and finally both together. The sauce did leak into the cold cure making it hard to distinguish the individual terp profiles so I ended up just dabbing them together.
I got a light sweet fruity flavor with a bit of a carbonated notes and a touch of floral funk. There was also a little background noise, not too much, probably not even noticeable to most. The taste wasn’t bad at all, just not something I’d write home about. It didn’t really wow me, and that slight background noise held it back from being better.
Overall
This wasn’t a bad jar from 710 Labs at all. It was actually my first time in a while grabbing something from the recreational market I always like to see what some of the “best” rosin in stores is smoking like. This jar was from 710’s Close Friends collection, which they describe as their rarest batches that surpass their tier 1 persy collection.
The jar checked most of the boxes, but not all for me. The looks weren’t the best in my opinion, the sauce was on the darker side and had leaked a bit in the jar, probably from transport which is out there control. The jar was clean but did have a slight background noise. The high was really nice, super relaxing and perfect for just chilling or throwing on a movie.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad jar by any means; it just didn’t wow me or make me want to reach for it over other jars, and that’s fine we all like different terps. I more than likely wouldn’t snag this jar again personally, but I’d still try other drops from them. 710 Labs still has some of the best terps in the recreational market, and they’ve been doing it since 2010 so they do know what they’re doing. It was a solid jar, not horrible at all but not one I’d grab again.
