Appearance

The jar had a nice visual appeal, opening to an off white color with a really wet, glossy terpy look. The rosin looked clean, with no visible contaminants to the naked eye or under my phone’s macro lens. However, the texture didn’t quite match its appearance, despite the terpy wet look it was slightly dry with a damp sugar like consistency that you had to kind of smoosh on to your tool to get it to stay rather than one that is more stable and would stick to the tool easier, I did give it a stir too but that didn’t help too much. The rosin also burned clean on the nail after dabbing leaving no residue or burnt look after.

The jar packaging was very eye-catching, with a bright yellow gold color scheme. The top sticker was all embossed with the Handmade Hash logo with that blue mandala artwork. The wraparound was also embossed all over and included the name “Honey Bunz” and other details on the jar such as the micron range, gram weight and collab brand logo. However even though the packaging looks were great with the embossed textured stickering sadly the jar used was a chinese miron rather than an authentic miron jar with the “m” stamp on the bottom, which usually deteriorates hash during long term preservation and could have been the reason to why the hash was slightly dry.

Aroma

The nose on this jar was nice and opened to a loud, rich, sweet banana aroma that hits your nose as soon as you crack the jar open. It leans heavily toward an overly ripe fruit sweetness rather than a candy one and also has some soft, nutty earthiness layered underneath that adds some depth.

Taste

The taste was good and translated well from the nose. On the inhale, you’re met with that overly sweet banana flavor, followed by a subtle nutty earthiness that fades in and out slightly. It’s like dabbing mashed overripe bananas with a drizzle of raw honey and a sprinkle of nuts. The rosin also dabbed clean with no harshness, which I always appreciate.

Overall

This was my first time trying handmade hash, and I’ll say it was some good hash but it did not blow my mind by any means especially at the high ticket they demand. The reason I decided to grab this jar is because Handmade Hash is one of those brands I always see at a higher ticket compared to other jars and normally I skip it for that reason. However this time I said why not and decided to see for myself what all the hype was about.

If you don’t know much about Handmade Hash, they are a traditional market hash brand out of California that collaborates with many growers such as royal budline, mendoja farms, meantooth and more. I don't know a ton beyond that, but that's some basic information on the brand.

This jar checked almost all the boxes. The only two things that didn’t hit the mark for me were the use of chinese micron jars instead of authentic ones and the slightly dry texture of the hash. The high was nice as well and delivered a smooth relaxing body and head high that doesn't take you out but still delivers some solid effects.

This was a good jar overall and I did enjoy it but factoring in the expensive ticket which is way above average, I personally just don’t think it’s worth it. Will you enjoy it? Yes. However, for that ticket, I think you can find equal to or better hash in other jars for a lower ticket. I know it was just a Honey Banana jar which is rather basic genetics but nothing really had me talking crazy about this jar. That being said I wouldn't grab this jar again for that reason but if price weren’t considered or was at a lower ticket I would be open to possibly grabbing it again as it's still some good hash. Shoutout to Handmade Hash and Mendoja Farms for creating some good hash and i'm looking forward to seeing what they cook up next drop.
