Appearance

The jar has great visual appeal, opening up to an ivory, buttery yellow color with a very nice wet and terpy look to it. I can also see a few air bubbles trapped in there as well when I look up close. The texture was really nice with an easy to scoop wet stable stay on your dab tool consistency that was nice. The rosin had a clean look to it too with no contaminants visible to the naked eye or under my phone's macro lens. It also burned clean on the nail after dabbing, leaving behind no residue or burnt look.

The jar packaging was nice and came in an authentic miron with the “m” stamped on the bottom. The jar design had a cool vibe to it with a light blue and deep blue color scheme. The top sticker featured the Tsunami Solventless logo, which consisted of one large tsunami wave with a sunset in the background. The wraparound stickers had a cool graphic from the movie “Surf’s Up” with three penguins surfing a wave which also included the jar name “Animal Tsunami IX” and other details on the jar such as the micron range, gram weight, and genetics

Aroma

The nose on this one is pretty complex it opened to a loud invigorating sharp gassy pine like smell to it mixed in with some sweet creamy notes on the backend. This one is very interesting and has quite an interesting nose.

Taste

The taste one this one translates well from the nose but is slightly different I get a get a pine slight gas taste on the inhale with a bit of sweet notes coming through then you get more sweet notes coming out with like a sweet cream flavor that lingers on your palate after the dab. It does have a harsh backend to it though that is noticeable it is not by any means overbearing but adds some discomfort which took away from the overall experience.

Overall

This is now my fourth jar from the new Tsunami Solventless drop, and is one of their staple strains from his lineup being animal tsunami with the f1 crossed with the f2. This is usually the part where I explain why I chose the jar, but this time around I didn’t pick it myself. I was fortunate enough to be asked by Tsunami if I’d be down to provide some tasting and aroma notes, and I figured I’d go ahead and review the jars as well after too. Shoutout to Tsunami for trusting my palate and always showing love to my reviews.

If you don’t know much about Tsunami Solventless , he’s a California based breeder and grower known for putting out some fire flavors. He’s released seeds and cuts like Wavez, Caribbean Cream, and other standouts, with his staple strain being Animal Tsunami, a cross between Animal Cookies x Caramel Tsunami that also serves as the backbone for much of the strains bred by him. Meltiplex is the brands in house hash maker, responsible for this jar and other releases under the brands name. He’s also collaborated in the past with reputable hash brands like Masterball Melts , Feel Good, and Splash Solventless.

This jar almost checked all the boxes. The appearance, nose, and flavor were all solid with nothing to complain about. The high was also great with very nice potent effects which I enjoyed and if I wasn’t careful it would take me out lol. There was a pretty strong noticeable harshness towards the backend of the dab. It was not overbearing, but it was noticeably harsh and it was just more harsher than the other jars from the drop so for that reason it did not check all the boxes and made me give it a lower score even though it checked all other boxes.

This wasn’t a bad jar from Tsunami Solventless but it wasn’t my favorite from the drop. While the jar did check most of the boxes, the smoothness box just wasn’t checked on this one. I found it to be noticeably harsh on the backend and that just never made me truly enjoy the terps on it which had a good flavor. It’s a really nice complex interesting terp profile that I enjoy but sadly it was harsh on the backend and for that reason I would not grab this jar again but I would be curious to see how the next batch compares as I enjoyed the effects a lot and the complexity of the terp profile. Shoutout to Tsunami Solventless.
