Appearance

This jar had a solid visual appeal, opening to a pale yellow off white color with a wet terpy look. The rosin also appeared clean with no visible contaminants to the naked eye or under my phone’s macro lens. The texture was easy to work with at first, scooping smoothly and staying on my dab tool without being overly wet. However, toward the end it began to dry out, taking on a more crumbly consistency that made it harder to stick to the tool without pressing it on. It also burned clean on the nail, leaving behind no residue or charred appearance after dabbing.

The jar packaging was eye catching and came in an authentic miron with the “m” stamped on the bottom. The design had an airheads candy wrapper inspired look. The top sticker stood out with a red holographic print featuring the airheads logo with that red balloon with a smiley face that read “Rosin Papi” instead of “Airheads” which was a cool touch. The wraparound label continued that same holographic theme, resembling classic airheads wrapper packaging. It featured the bold airheads style font with the red balloon graphic, along with the genetics listed above and additional details like weight and micron range included on the label.

Aroma

The nose on this jar was very complex and interesting. When I first cracked it open, I got a light, faint strawberry aroma that faded quickly, giving way to more of an sharp acetone/orange rind aroma which was interesting. The strawberry smell came across as a true-to-fruit smell rather than candy smell, with floral, earthy, and lightly sweet notes instead of that artificial strawberry candy sweetness. It was a nice terp profile, but not what you might expect from the packaging, as it didn’t resemble a candy strawberry airheads type aroma.

Taste

The taste translated closely to the nose, opening with faint, light strawberry terps on the front end that carried earthy, floral, and lightly sweet notes rather than an artificial candy sweetness. That flavor faded quickly, giving way to more of an orange rind and acetone type taste with a very slight citrus edge and sharp chemical notes. I’m assuming the terp profile mainly comes from the Zkittlez and KC36 genetics, as I didn’t get much strawberry from the Strawnana coming through. The Zkittlez showed up more as a light citrus note blended into the KC36 rather than that distinct Zkittlez flavor most people expect. It’s a very complex and interesting terp profile that doesn’t come across like a strawberry Airheads candy, but instead feels more unique and layered, pulling a bit from each of the genetics. It also dabbed smooth with no harshness.

Overall

This was my second time trying anything from Rosin Papi, with the first being Diesel Dough, which I was really impressed with. That’s what made me decide to grab this one, along with the genetics which sound crazy and the name “Strawberry Airheadz” was hard to pass on. That said, this jar isn’t what you might expect from the name. Most people, myself included, would assume a sweet artificial strawberry candy profile, but it’s actually very different and unique as you can tell.

For those who are unfamiliar with Rosin Papi he is a hash maker from Miami with a Cuban background. He does single source, indoor, organic living soil grown flower that he then washes and presses into hash. I don't know anything else about him and the brand like when he started and his journey etc.

I would say this jar pretty much checked all the boxes. The looks, smell, taste, and effects were all solid, with nothing to complain about. The jar also dabbed very smooth and clean with no harshness or discomfort and the effects were excellent with a very nice rather potent body high that doesn't take you out but delivers some nice solid effects.

I also talked with Rosin Papi about this jar because I wanted to see if he picked up the same profile, and at first we had slightly different takes. I was getting some orange rind notes with that sharp chemical edge, while he described it more of an acetone kush flavor. There was a bit of confusion at first because he thought I meant an orange candy profile like superboof or tangie strain, but I was referring more to the actual rind of an orange like what you’d get in an old fashioned with those slight citrus pungent notes, and after looking it up I realized an orange rind and acetone can share similar characteristics in their profiles which makes sense. He also mentioned this was his first time running this strain, so future batches might express more strawberry notes or just come out differently, and that it usually takes around three runs to really dial something in, which makes sense. The original strain is called Strawberry Candy from Higher Grounds, and he named this one “Strawberry Airheadz” based on that, which makes perfect sense.

This was a good jar from Rosin Papi, but it didn’t quite blow me away like Diesel Dough did. That’s not to take anything away from it because it’s still a solid jar, it just didn’t have that same wow factor for me. The terp profile threw me off since I was expecting more of a strawberry candy profile based on the name, which ended up being a bit misleading but nonetheless it was still a solid jar. I probably wouldn’t grab this jar again since it didn’t quite stand out enough for me to go back for another, but I would be open to trying it again down the road, especially since this was its first run and it may just not be fully dialed in yet. I would still recommend it though, especially if that terp profile sounds like something you’re into, as it burns clean, dabs smooth and packs a nice high. Shoutout to Rosin Papi and much love for taking the time to talk with me about the jar and share more insight on the strain!
