The jar had a nice visual appeal. The thumbprint was laid out nicely with Runtz Berries cultivated by Ganjah Guru on the outside and Yellow Burst 219 cultivated by Symbiotic Genetics in the center, both had a nice, wet terpy look. The Runtz Berries had a light beige yellow color with a nice consistency that was easy to scoop on my tool. The Yellow Burst 219 had a similar consistency with a nice wet easy to scoop texture but the color differed with this one having a more saturated golden beige color.
The rosin came in a clear jar with a stainless steel lid, packaging I’m not a fan of for cold cure since it can dry out over time, but the design itself was very cool. Chris always delivers unique jar art, this one featured two stickers, a textured top sticker showing a vibrant neon lit Asian city at night with tall skyscrapers, glowing billboards, and people crossing a scene reminiscent of Shibuya crosswalk, its detailed enough to feel like a snapshot from an anime film. The bottom sticker depicted someone holding a caramel ice cream with the jar name “Kanazawa Kinpaku Berry Blast” above it, along with additional details like micron range, genetics, and collab info.
Aroma
The nose was nice when I cracked the jar, with a subtle, light sweet fruity aroma with notes of melons and berries along with a slight zest. The melon note is of a cantaloupe melon not watermelon. There was also that faint, distinctive chris smell in there that I tend to notice across many of his jars, sometimes more than others. It smells good, but it is not an especially loud or standout profile that really wows me like some of his past jars.
Taste
The taste on this jar was enjoyable. Since it’s a thumbprint, there are three ways to dab it: Runtz Berries on its own, Yellow Burst 219 on its own, or both combined. I dabbed the jar in all three ways starting off with Runtz Berries, it delivered a mouth coating rather clean dab with a sweet, creamy, slightly floral and earthy flavor that lingered briefly on the palate before fading. It also burned clean on the nail and dabbed rather clean with no background noise.
The Yellow Burst 219 stood out more to me, offering a really nice, clean dab with a sweet fruity candy lingering on the palate for quite a while. The flavor reminded me of a yellow starburst kind of but with a fruity twist with cantaloupe melon and banana notes; it also burned clean on the nail and also had no discomfort when dabbing.
When dabbing them together it created a balanced profile that combined a sweet, fruity banana/melon taste with some of those creamy, slightly gassy runtz terps.. I enjoyed the combination, but personally I preferred them separately, as I felt the Runtz muted some of the Yellow Burst flavor, though others might appreciate the blend. The combo also burned clean on the nail and also dabbed clean too with no background noise. However the flavor wasn’t really anything to write home about pretty simple.
Overall
This was a solid jar from The Real Cannabis Chris, Ganjah Guru and Symbiotic like many of the jars I've had in the past from this brand. The reason I decided to try this one is because I haven't had anything from this brand this year and wanted to try out some of their new jars which are all collabs.
The Real Cannabis Chris is a California based hash brand that’s been cultivating since 1998 and washing since 2007. Many people know them for their crazy strain names and for their unique terp profiles. Some of the brands most sought out and award winning strains are Wild Cherry, Guapa Empanada De Piña 22, and Guapa Pie 2, which have all turned into staples for the brand. The brand has competed in several major hash competitions around the world alongside other highly reputable hashmakers and has taken home a significant number of wins, some big ones include 1st place melt at Full Moon Sesh Bangkok 2024 with Guapa Sisters (Guapa Pie 2 and Guapa Empanada De Piña 22), 1st place People’s Choice at the LA Dabrite Championship 2024 with Wild Cherry, 2nd place at Ego Clash Barcelona 2024 with a trio blend, 3rd place at Masters of Rosin NYC 2024 with Dulce De Fresa, 1st place rosin with Wild Cherry and 2nd place hash with Guapa Empanada De Piña 22 at Full Moon Sesh Bangkok 2026, and honestly the list goes on. To summarize their competition record, they’ve entered 42 cups since 2022 and placed top three in all but three, which is a pretty wild level of consistency.
This jar pretty much checked all the boxes. The looks, smell, and taste were all solid. The effects were really the only thing that didn’t fully land, as the high wasn’t very potent and didn’t really move me.
Shoutout to The Real Cannabis Chris, Ganjah Guru and Symbiotic Genetics. This was a solid jar overall, but the flavor didn’t really wow me or stick with me like some of the jars I’ve had in the past. For that reason, I wouldn’t grab this one again. It’s a good jar of hash, just not one I’d go out of my way for a second one.
