Appearance
The appearance was nice. It opened up to some visually appealing flower with a green color with heavy traces of a dark purple color going through it, with some nugs having more purple traces than others. The nugs were well trimmed and had a dense and compact look and feel to it. The nugs were also covered in trichomes giving the flower a nice frosty look, the flower also had a decent amount of orange pistils spread out across the flower. When breaking up the flower it was also pretty sticky to the touch, nothing crazy but when that's the case I always recommend using gloves unless you want your fingers covered in sticky trichomes, which I find annoying when rolling and just in general and it’s also much cleaner. After grinding, the flower had a nice fluffy consistency that was easy to roll instead of that dry powdery consistency you usually get from older or overly dry flower.
The packaging on this flower was really cool. It came in a glass jar with a sandblasted design with cookie style pattern all over it which gave it a unique and cool look. The lid of the jar had a sticker too with bloodshot cartoon eyes and blue background that said “always smoking some good shit” in a cool font. I didn't snag the whole jar and only got an eighth so i didn't keep the jar but the jar packaging is definitely one to keep for the collection for sure.
Aroma
The aroma is nice, loud, and unique, and instantly reminiscent of the Frog Poisons I've tried previously, if you’ve had it before. When I cracked open the jar, I was immediately hit with a dank onion like funk, with an underlying sweet citrus that helps tie everything together. It's just a unique and enjoyable terp profile that keeps pulling you back in for another smell every time you open the jar.
Taste
The taste translated rather decently but wasn’t identical to the aroma. It had a nice flavor with that same dank onion like funk along with a touch of sweetness, but it wasn’t nearly as pronounced as the aroma, which was very profound. It was still flavorful and enjoyable, just not as flavorful as I expected based on how strong the aroma was. The flavor also stuck around for most of the doink before gradually fading away towards the end.
Burn/Smoothness
The burn was nice from start to finish. As soon as I lit it, it formed a light resin ring that stayed present throughout the entire doink, gradually getting showing up more as it smoked. The ash structure was solid and burned all the way down to the tip with a salt and pepper appearance, leaning more toward that white ash look. As for smoothness, this one was great with little to no discomfort from start to finish. It smoked very clean all the way down to the end, which I always enjoy.
Effects
The effects were nice and rather potent but not overly potent. It delivered a strong head and body high that had me feeling relaxed for quite a while. The effects don’t make you sleepy but more so just hit you hard, i enjoyed it while going on a walk during the park cause i only needed a small doink which was nice.
Overall
This Sinners Poison was some nice flower like most of the stuff I've tried from Malibu from the past. The main reason I grabbed this one is because I had previously tried three strains from this cultivar, The Shodan, Ancient Magic, and Bakers Dozen. I thought all three were good, with The Shodan and Ancient Magic really impressing me, while Bakers Dozen didn’t stand out quite as much. I also wanted to try this one because of all the Frog Poison hype going around still, I wanted to see how Malibu’s stacked up against some previous Frog Poison cuts I’ve tried like Good Dawg and Cutright Cannabis.
Malibu is a cultivar out of California that bred The Zensei (Zkittlez) and The Shodan (Lemon Tree x Zkittlez) he has also cultivated other stuff and has collabed with other brands by cultivating their genetics like Wizard Trees (Ancient Magickz), SD Cookie Jar (Bakers Dozen) and now this Sinners Poison which is a collab with Feel Good. Malibu also has easily some of the best packaging and art work in the game hands down, I mean this drop came with a whole casino board set if you got a certain amount which is wild.
The flower checked easily all boxes overall with no real complaints. I do wish the flavor lasted a bit longer and resembled the aroma more which was very loud and pronounced but besides that no complaints. The smoothness from start to finish stood out to me the most along with the aroma which was really unique and loud.
This was some good smoke overall and I enjoyed it. It was cool to compare the other Frog Poisons I've tried in flower like some of the Cutright Cannabis cultivated ones along with the Greendawg x Feel Good collab which share the same genetics as this one. I would more than likely grab this jar again as I enjoyed how clean the smoke was but it wasn't one that had me really wanting to snag another jar and thats probably due to the flavor translation not being too crazy compared to the aroma but again nonetheless its some good smoke. Shoutout to Malibu and Feel Good!
